Kona Winds is set on the island of Oahu. The title was a bit misleading. By the title, I expected the story to take place on the Big Island of Hawaii. The author gives a very picturesque account of the islands, using graphic descriptions of sites and native language to prove her point. She made an error in the word plumeria, referring to it as plusneria. She also made an error in describing plumeria as antheriums. The other error or misunderstanding in the story came when she was describing the relation of the brother and sister, who were half siblings. I couldn't quite understand who the mother and father were to each and how they related to the aunt. The story was good. I did not like how combative the male lead character was. As a woman, I would not have put up with his demanding and somewhat abusive behavior. That was a little unrealistic to me. Overall, I enjoyed this read. It was simple and fast paced.Product details

Kona Winds The Americana Series Book 11 eBook Janet Dailey Reviews
Learn a lot about Hawaii, and sugar cane crops.
Very good, short, sweet, interesting just the way I Like a Janet Dailey book. She always keeps you interested in the book you can't put it down.
There was a bit about Hawaii and some mention of various locations and tourist attractions, but not enough local flavor.
I always enjoy her books and this was no exception.
This was a great little story. Set in the romantic, tropical setting of paradise I immediately liked Julie but could not for the longest time understand what she saw in the conceited, arrogant Ruel Chandler. But he softened up somewhat and in the end I was rooting for they're love,
Although I do think this story is very romantic...(warning spoiler ahead) It concludes with the assumption that they are going to live together - rather than get married. That is NOT the kind of romance I am interested in - I like her other novels with the, for me, happily ever after MARRIED ending. If I made a mistake in my perception of the ending....please correct me!
Awesome story
